Spring Journal Writing Prompts

Shaking Off the Winter Funk (Gently, of Course)

A lighthearted approach to spring journaling

There’s something about winter that asks us to slow down… and sometimes, if we’re being honest, it slows us all the way down.

The days are shorter. The air feels heavier. And even if we’ve had beautiful moments tucked inside the season, there can come a point where everything feels just a little… stuck.

And then spring shows up.

Not all at once. Not loudly.
But in small, quiet ways.

A little more light through the window.
A softer breeze.
The sound of something waking up.

Spring doesn’t demand a full reset. It doesn’t ask you to suddenly become a brand new version of yourself.

It simply invites you to begin again… gently.

And I think that’s where journaling can feel really good this time of year.

Not deep. Not heavy. Not something you have to “figure out.”
Just light, playful, noticing.

Almost like opening a window in your mind.

Creativity has always been a large part of my life. I believe that everyone is a creative, some people just have not discovered their passion yet. My goal is to share the message, “Go Forth and Create!”

Mixed media is my love. I thrive on the freedom of working in any medium I want and combining watercolor, ink, acrylics, fabrics-everything is fair game.

Living in Alaska, I am surrounded by beauty. I find the scenery and the people equally inspiring. the world is endlessly providing inspiration and my mission is to take full advantage. My favorites include color, nature, family, books, people and so much more.
